Welcome to my blog.
My name is Sathishkumar Shanmugam, the author of this blog. I am a Human Resource Professional by qualification and a Weekend Chef with no qualification.
My roots are of Indian origin, but I was born and brought up in Sri Lanka. My family has been residing in Sri Lanka for the last couple of generations for now. We are Indian Tamils and our food is a mix of Indian, Sri Lankan and Malaysian cuisines.
Ten years ago I moved to Chennai, Tamil Nadu for my studies as a bachelor. It was not easy for me to find the food that matched with my taste, quality and expectations, even though the recipes were the same at most of the restaurants. Then I started asking myself “why shouldn’t you decide your meal and make it according to your expected taste? I mean, how hard could that be? ” Then I started cooking for myself. It has changed my life!!
Everybody knows that food is a very important part of our lives. Starting from the early morning Cuppa Chai to the midnight desserts, food is something that keeps everyone happy each and every minute. For a lot of people I know, good food brings happiness! Vegetable Biryani or Chilly Paneer (Cottage Cheese) or even your favourite Cuppa Chai with your friends make anyone feel happier.
To cook great food you don’t need to be a great chef, simply begin your journey with a boiled egg and Maggi. That’s how I became very much passionate about food. I love cooking food because I just love doing it. I love every element that is involved in my culinary work.
I prepare my own recipes when I have a lot of time with me and I try most of the recipes that are available online, but I give the personal touch to it by adding my own sets of flavours and using personalised methods to bring about suitable and great taste in the food. Sometimes I mess up the dish that’s there (LOL)!
Sometimes I prepare the best for myself and my family & friends. But anyway all recipes here are tried and tested by me.
So here in my blog, I share the recipes of my works and the recipes that I would try using other sources. Every food recipe that I will share would have a unique and different taste to it. When you try the recipes from my blog, follow the instruction and add the ingredients as per your requirement. Read them, make them, taste them and love them!
I use a Nikon D3300 with 18-55mm lens to photograph my works. I will be starting with a beginner’s model, as I am new to the world of photography and blogging.
